I’m a fifteen-year-old Christian and freshman in high school. I have a passion for sharing the Light of Christ with fellow teens. I live in the United States with my amazing parents and three siblings. I love to play soccer, read books, watch movies, and write my own stories and articles. I’m also an author and recently finished the first draft of my first book, Project Rise. I’m half-Kiwi, so I consider New Zealand as my second home and one of my favorite places on earth. I’m not perfect, but I’ve learned a lot from God through challenges and struggles, and I can’t wait to share and hopefully encourage with God’s grace everyone who comes to visit. God’s still molding me, just like he molds everyone of us, and He’s not finished with any of us yet.
I felt led to start the Lighthouse, and I can’t wait to get started here!! So come along with us for this journey!
My name is Caitlin and I am a 16 year old writer from Australia!
I live with my mum, dad, two younger siblings and two beautiful dogs in a small town in Queensland.
Currently I am working through both grade 12 and tafe, taking on leadership roles within my youth group, playing piano for my church each Sunday and balancing my ridiculously busy social life. It gets pretty hectic sometimes but that’s okay! It’s fun 😉😂
Towards the end of 2017, God changed my life and I haven’t been the same since. His incredible love for me even while I rejected Him has made me want to use my talents to show the world that He is there. I write songs, novels and the occasional poem and I’m currently working on a sci-fi novel called ‘Tomorrow, She Comes’ and a non-fiction guide for teenage girls titled ‘For I Am Worthy’.
This opportunity to contribute to The Lighthouse is definitely not something I wish to take for granted and I’m so excited to see where God takes us!
My name is Ricky Erpelding, and I’m so excited to a part of the writing team at The Lighthouse! I’ll be writing to you from Minnesota, where I currently live with my awesome family and my dog.
Growing up in a Christian home, I was able to make my faith in Jesus Christ personal, while continuing to be led through the scriptures by my parents. I purposed to surround myself with like-minded peers throughout my highschool years, who challenged me to make my faith real in every situation.
1 Peter 3:15 says “…always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you…” The art of effective communication has always impressed itself on my mind as one of the greatest opportunities to most effectively impact your surroundings. Through speech contests, writing essays, and constructive debates, I have tried to build this skill in my own life, and I hope to use it to further God’s kingdom as we delve into real-life topics together.
I’m looking forward to these next few months on The Lighthouse, and I hope you come along for the journey!
I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank all my contributors and friends for their willingness to contribute here!
Also, if you would like to talk with me about some questions you may have, have some kindly written comments, or just need some prayer and a fellow friend, feel free to contact me with this fancy form!
